A resident of Connecticut and a lover of all things…
Far end of summer and evening comes
with stars as soft as swans
medieval gold floods across the lawn,
a distant thunder drums
from somewhere moon-distant, beyond
the tree-line, and a lithesome
wind brushes across the open mouths
of blossoms in a paddle-hushed sound.
Dew dripping grass and a horizon of plum,
near-glimmering, appear years from dawn
or winter’s blue, enfeebled tongue’s
monastic requiem.
Gardens of snowdrift and pearled abalone
rise, flowers flourish in sponge-soft stone.
