J V Birch is a British-born Australian poet living on…
It was a low slung
moon
shivering the water
white
a pendant at night’s
throat
while we were at each
other’s
words like fireflies between
us
Until we saw it through
the palms
glowing perfectly
whole
and we stopped
to watch
remember ourselves
