Creek water trickles as the crickets whistle.
Foxes lie in fields to rest; summer at its crest.
Fireflies dance atop corn, perennials bloom, dead stems reborn.
Drops of honey soak our tongues, deer lead their curious young.
Golden sun hums down, beat of my hometown.
