Kris Szewczyk

Kris Szewczyk, also going by Firefly, was born in Białystok in Podlasie region of Poland and is a traditional artist and illustrator currently based in Kraków, they mostly work in ink with a focus on details and meaning. Kris is a self-taught artist but art was present throughout all of their life - finding inspiration in nature, folklore, fairytales and fantasy. To no surprise most of their art relates to a mysterious and almost dream-like feeling of an other world. While often experimenting with various mediums Kris always comes back to simple ink as this medium gives both control over the details and an unmistakakeable feeling of old book illustrations which are the artist’s primary inspiration when it comes to style.
