I step outside my door
to discover
moss, thick and curled,
course and feathered,
has crept along
my time cracked cobblestones.
How long must it have journeyed
to find me here? Here among
the straight white picketed
mailboxes and clean mown lawns.
And yet here it is:
nature has come to greet me.
