Jesse Suess
Jesse grew up in the forests of the Pacific Northwest,…
The frog’s bright song
awakens the first
red blossoms,
little flames,
in the maple boughs,
the first blush of spring’s
fresh cheeks,
the first hot rush
of blood,
as if the woods
have just caught sight
of the curving blade
of their lover’s shoulder
under a soft sweater
from across the room.
awakens the first
red blossoms,
little flames,
in the maple boughs,
the first blush of spring’s
fresh cheeks,
the first hot rush
of blood,
as if the woods
have just caught sight
of the curving blade
of their lover’s shoulder
under a soft sweater
from across the room.
