And For A Moment

And For A Moment

Oil painting of a sky full of clouds
To be indolent and pure,
to move exactly as the clouds do,
to fall across light like dust
with golden parachutes,
to turn from blue to black
with long varied paths of gray,
to know not more or less,
to take not more or less,
to ride a bird’s outcry
like a child’s swing,
to ask nothing,
to wonder not at all,
to feel the turning of the world
and not grab hold,
to ocean back and forth,
to earth acceptingly,
to forget my name, my age,
to let go of everything
and for a moment believe
and float in God’s canoe.
