Letter From The Editors

Dearest Readers,

As our open call comes to a close, we’d like to take the time to thank everyone who contributed their submissions and made the launch of The Hyacinth Review a resounding success.

When we set out to create The Hyacinth Review, it was with the intention of creating a platform for the humanities as well as providing access to free learning resources to all. Thanks to the wonderfully overwhelming wave of submissions we received and the suggestions we were sent for our Resources page, we can proudly say that we’ve achieved those goals!

So far you’ve had the chance to glimpse a few of our earliest submissions, but rest assured we have plenty of additional content in store. From villanelles to haiku, collages and paintings, to short stories and essays, The Hyacinth Review promises to fulfill its role as a space to celebrate the humanities and explore all the beauty that the world has to offer.

Thank you again to all of you who sent us your work. We know how much trust and vulnerability goes into sharing your pieces and we take our roles as editors very seriously.

And a big thank you to all who supported us in every other way – your encouragement means the world to us and we’re eternally grateful.

We hope that your New Year is off to a promising start, but if you’re in need of a little boost, we hope that the pieces from our first open call, Flora, can bring a little bit of springtime cheer to the chilly months ahead.

Warmest wishes,

Ariel K. Moniz & Terri Pinyerd
