Mary Silvia Winter

Mary Sylvia Winter is a writer of novels, short stories, poetry and children's fiction who combines writing with teaching English, to the mutual benefit of both. She has completed three novels and is working on fourth, as well as recently completing a short story collection called 'Covid Tales', from which 'There Should be Stories' is taken. Mary finds that ordinary situations can give rise to extraordinary insights into the human condition, and tries to communicate these in her writing. She doesn't mind breaking a few moulds in doing so. Mary divides her time between Canada and England, and can both make scones and use chainsaw. She shared the peculiarly British experience of the Covid pandemic, which she has tried to bring to life in Covid Tales.
